Clay Electric Foundation raises funds via Operation Round Up in which customers choose to round up their electric bill each month.  These funds are given to charities in the Clay Electric service area.  Service Dogs for Patriots was awarded $7,500 in August 2019 to provide service dog training to veterans.  Thank you Clay Electric, and the customers who participate in Operation Round Up!

The Seykora family (Linda, Karie, Debbie, her husband Matthew, and their children Sean,  Keagan, and Mary) reached out to Service Dogs for Patriots to sponsor a service dog/veteran  handler team in memory of Mrs. Robin Taylor Sokalski (1955-2018) and her dad, Mr. Joseph Taylor (1928-2018).  Joe was a Korean war veteran.

Robin Taylor, born in Tallahassee, FL, held an affinity for creatures great and small that spanned her lifetime.  Her fascination with and appreciation of birds made her very knowledgeable of species and their habits.  She even befriended a family of sandhill cranes that visited her porch daily one season, documenting their growth with a cache of photographs.

The dogs in Robin’s life each occupied a special place in her heart.  More family than pets, they brightened her day, made her smile and laugh, and then grieve when they were gone all too soon.   When it became impossible for Robin to adopt another  dog, she continued to support animals in the community through donations of food, towels, and blankets to the local pet shelter.

  
There  could be no better legacy from Robin’s life and times than the opportunity for affection and companionship of a rescued dog through her donation to Service Dogs for Patriots.
